I enjoy teaching, particularly less experienced students in the use of oils, watercolours or pastels, whether in the UK or on painting holidays in Spain and other European locations with Authentic Adventures (formerly Andalucian Adventures).

Whether home or abroad with less experienced painters, or outright beginners, (although I don't like to label people as 'beginners' with its negative connotations), I will always give you the very best attention.

Demonstrations to art groups and societies can be arranged at negotiated rates, also day long workshops at your chosen location of here at my home studio. Both kinds of event include live and static demonstrations and examples of my own work for critique and guidance. Often I loan crucial materials, including the 'Roger Jones Brush', a round, extended point Kolinsky sable, which I developed with the help of brushmakers, Rosemary & Co and which can be bought from them (see links page).  My workshops are also supported with background notes and an invitation to keep in touch for further sessions.

I tutor at the Marlborough College Summer School each July and August.  During the rest of the year I often teach residential weekend courses at Farncombe Estate near Broadway, Worcestershire.   It's a splendid, scenic country location, overlooking the Malvern Hills, with excellent residential accommodation set in beautiful grounds, always comfortable and warm - and the cuisine is outstanding.  It has all the facilities that we need for a successful course.

Usually, if time permits, during the Winter, between Feb and early April, I offer one to one and group tuition workshops (maximum 6) in oils, watercolours and pastels in my conservatory style studio. Click on the Workshops link for more details, phone me or send me an e-mail via the Contact me section.
