I
 paint contemporary landscapes and seascapes in oils, watercolours and pastels, sometimes enlivened by human figures that can be part of the visual story that a painting can tell.
As the leading painting tutor for the holiday company Andalucian Adventures I also paint landscapes and seascapes home and abroad with guests who accompany me on holidays in Spain, Italy and the Cotswolds.
In my own work I portray the Cotswold landscape and its waterways, and also landscapes and seascapes of North Wales where I have a home on the Llŷn peninsula. I demonstrate to art groups and societies throughout the UK and give talks about painting and its links with natural history film-making, as I was until recently a Senior Producer for the BBC Natural History Unit in Bristol. My last efforts there were to help set up, film for and develop the Blue Planet series narrated by David Attenborough. I was also the development producer for the cinematic version of The Blue Planet series, called ‘Deep Blue’, narrated by Michael Gambon. During the winter I run tutored painting workshops in the use of watercolours, oils and pastels in my home studio. During the summer I run watercolour and oil painting workshops in Wiltshire at the renowned Marlborough College Summer School during July and early August. Over the rest of the year I tutor regularly at the Adult Learning Centre at Farncombe Estate near Broadway in Worcestershire.
I hold exhibitions regularly and welcome commissions, when I like to meet clients. Each painting is accompanied by its own written biography. This is a short essay about its origins, the natural or social history of the location, the circumstances in which it was painted, and thoughts about the things that appealed to me at the time I was working on it - a kind of time capsule in words. It can bring added insight and value to the work.

Prices range from £200 to £1500 depending on size, medium and the background history to the work.
